DENVER − The evolutionary nature of medical devices eventually results in the obsolescence of a device type, and to judge by the remarks of several presenters at this year's edition of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, the age of the bare-metal stent is over. One panelist said he travels regularly to China, and that this device type is simply not available there, while others testified that they no longer use the BMS on their patients.
