Aastrom Biosciences Inc., of Ann Arbor, Mich., was granted an Australian composition-of-matter patent, “Mixed Cell Populations for Tissue Repair and Separation Technique for Cell Processing,” for ixmyelocel-T, its cell therapy product. The company also holds patents for ixmyelocel-T in the U.S. and Europan Union.
Caris Life Sciences Inc., of Irving, Texas, was granted a patent in the People’s Republic of China covering Caris Molecular Intelligence, the company’s molecular profiling service. In China, about 3.5 million people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Caris also has been granted patents previously in Singapore and South Africa.
Oramed Pharamceuticals Inc., of Jerusalem, received a notice of allowance from the Australia patent office for “Methods and Compositions for Oral Administrations of Proteins,” related to its technology for the oral delivery of drugs and vaccines currently delivered through injections. The patent was approved previously in Japan, China and New Zealand.
