• CardioDx (Palo Alto, California), a molecular diagnostics company specializing in cardiovascular genomics, reported results from a multi-center, real-world registry study highlighting the clinical utility of Corus CAD in evaluating suspected obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients 65 years or older. Corus CAD is the first and only commercially available blood-based gene expression test that provides a current-state assessment of obstructive CAD in non-diabetic patients presenting with typical or atypical symptoms. Corus CAD helps clinicians accurately rule out obstructive CAD as the cause of these symptoms.

• CSL Behring (King of Prussia, Pennsylvania) reported the availability of DNA1 Advanced Alpha-1 Screening (DNA1), a new test that aims to improve diagnosis of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1). Launched during Alpha-1 Awareness Month, DNA1 is the only comprehensive Alpha-1 test available that identifies known and unknown clinically relevant genetic variants to help physicians achieve an accurate diagnosis. Alpha-1 is a serious hereditary condition that can cause lung disease and/or liver disease. It is often misdiagnosed as COPD, asthma or emphysema because the symptoms are similar: shortness of breath, chronic cough, difficulty breathing, and wheezing. On average, people with Alpha-1 will see three doctors over seven years before they are accurately diagnosed. During that time, lung damage progresses.

Optim has successfully tested the ENTityXL for material compatibility with STERIS Revital-Ox Resert XL HLD High Level Disinfectant. As a result the unit has proven to offer a longer life span through many cycles.
