CPM Resource Center (CPMRC; Grand Rapids, Michigan) and The Shams Group (TSG; Toppell, Texas) have partnered to provide small- and medium-sized hospitals with next-generation nursing and interdisciplinary documentation that integrates with their current health information systems.

CPMRC provides evidence-based clinical content products and practice transformation services that assist healthcare organizations in creating a healthy work culture and interdisciplinary integration based on the CPM Professional Practice Framework. TSG provides innovative services and software solutions to hospitals around the country.

Over the past 20 years, TSG has provided services to some 400 small- to medium-sized hospitals, particularly those with Meditech systems, leveraging legacy systems through portal technologies.

Today, TSG is a leader in browser-based portal applications, including a recently rolled-out Physician/Clinician Portal which it said has been well-received in the marketplace.

"Through this new relationship with TSG, we will bring CPMRC's evidence-based clinical content and interdisciplinary documentation to the hundreds of hospitals around the country that use TSG's software solutions to better leverage their Meditech and other HIT systems," said Diane Hanson, RN, executive vice president/general manager at CPMRC. "For the first time, our content will be built into TSG's solutions from the ground up, giving these hospitals a big advantage as they optimize their systems to take advantage of the coming federal stimulus monies."

CPMRC, an Elsevier company, has developed an integrated content solution for interdisciplinary care coordination and documentation that includes evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for medical and surgical diagnosis as well as human response conditions

"We are looking forward to offering the advantages of integrating the CPMRC content into the hospital information systems we optimize," said TSG President Kam Sham. "The hospitals we serve are continually searching for strategic ways to expand the potential of their existing information systems, and integrating the content from CPMRC makes our solution unlike any other in the country."
