• Phase Forward (Waltham, Massachusetts), a provider of data management solutions for clinical trials and drug safety, said that Chairman Paul Bleicher, MD, PhD, will step down from his day-to-day operational responsibilities at the end of this month. Bleicher is the founder of the company and will remain a member of the board.

• Mary Paskell has joined Remedy (Chicago) as VP of strategy. Most recently, Paskell was VP of marketing at ComPsych. Remedy is a brand strategy and communications agency.

• SyntheMed (Iselin, New Jersey) said that Richard Franklin, MD, the company's chairman, has assumed the newly-created position of executive chairman and Gere diZerega, MD, one of the company's clinical advisors, has assumed the newly-created position of medical director. SyntheMed is focused on anti-adhesion products and other surgical implants based on its bioresorbable polymer technology.
