• James Whelan has joined ESA Biosciences (Chelmsford, Massachusetts) as VP of sales and marketing for ESA's clinical diagnostics business. Whelan joins ESA from LabCorp, where he was most recently VP of managed care for its esoteric business. ESA Biosciences specializes in dedicated systems to screen children for lead poisoning.

• Integrated Project Services (IPS; Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania) reported the addition of Daniel Franklin as regional manager, compliance services based in Indiana, and Matthew Stefanowicz as regional manager, compliance services based in North Carolina. Franklin was with Performance Solutions and Stefanowicz with Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals. IPS provides engineering and construction services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

• Christopher Martin has been named to the board of directors of Research Corporation Technologies (RCT; Tucson, Arizona). He is senior VP/CFO at RCT. Along with his responsibilities as CFO, Martin leads the RCT team focused on medical device development. He also is managing director of Coronis Medical Ventures and a director of ParinGenix. RCT is a technology investment and management company that provides early-stage funding and development for promising biomedical companies and technologies from universities and research institutions.

• Strategic Diagnostics (Newark, Delaware) said that Matthew Knight, president/CEO, will be stepping down from his position to pursue other interests, and also will resign as a director. Knight will maintain a consulting relationship with the company to assist with the transition. Francis DiNuzzo, currently executive VP/COO, will assume the role of interim CEO. Strategic Diagnostics is a provider of biotechnology-based detection solutions for a broad range of food, water, agricultural, industrial, environmental, and life science applications.

• Bob Masterson was named CIO of TMG Health (King of Prussia, Pennsylvania). Previously, Masterson was head of technology for CitiBank. TMG Health provides business process outsourcing services for Medicare and Medicaid managed care plans.
