Alan Gold, MD, has been named president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS; New York). Gold, in private practice, holds an academic appointment as clinical associate professor of surgery at the Weill Cornell Medical College, and he has been an ASAPS member since 1985. ASAPS is an organization of plastic surgeons specializing in cosmetic surgery of the face and body.

Judith Huber has been named CFO of ConforMIS (Burlington, Massachusetts). She previously was VP and controller at NxStage Medical. ConforMIS makes minimally invasive medical devices for the treatment of osteoarthritis and joint damage.

Vito Canuso has been named VP of intellectual property for CoreValve (Irvine, California). Canuso joins CoreValve from the intellectual property law firm Knobbe, Martens, Olson & Bear, where he has been a partner since 1995. CoreValve's ReValving System allows both percutaneous aortic valve replacement and transapical aortic valve replacement and is intended to provide an alternative to open-heart surgery.

• CytoCore (Chicago) has named Eric Cohill as senior VP of sales and marketing, Kenneth Ramsay as regional sales manager northeast and Cynthia Schwery as regional manager mid-south. Cohill was most recently VP of sales at Viking Systems; Ramsay was regional sales manager, New England, for Medworx; and Schwery was national manager of 3-D vision services at Viking Systems. CytoCore makes systems for the early detection of gynecological cancers and sexually transmitted diseases.

Timothy Floeder has been named to the new position of VP of corporate development at Synovis Life Technologies (St. Paul, Minnesota). Previously, Floeder was VP of business development for Compex Technologies. Synovis develops implantable biomaterials for soft-tissue repair, devices for microsurgery and surgical tools.
