Michael Culotta, CFO, has resigned from LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tennessee). Culotta had been at his position for five years. LifePoint Hospitals is a hospital company focused on providing healthcare services in non-urban communities in 19 states.

• Northstar Neuroscience (Seattle) reported that John Bowers, currently COO, will become president/CEO on June 29. He will succeed Alan Levy, PhD, who will become non-executive chairman of the board of directors. Northstar Neuroscience makes medical devices for the treatment of neurological diseases and disorders.

• US Oncology (Houston) reported that its COO, George Morgan, will retire effective June 30. Morgan joined US Oncology in 2000. Bruce Broussard, the president of US Oncology, will now assume responsibility for operations. US Oncology is one of the nation's largest cancer treatment and research networks.

Ken Nelson has joined WaveLight (Sterling, Virginia) as the CFO. Prior to joining WaveLight, Nelson was managing partner for London-based Highgate Associates, LLC. WaveLight makes products for ophthalmology, and specializes in vision optics.
