A Medical Device Daily

A Florida man, who pleaded guilty to stealing joint implants and other devices made by Biomet (Warsaw, Indiana), has agreed to make restitution to a company that bought the stolen goods.

International Medical Commerce (Zionsville, Indiana), headed by Arthur Morris of Zionsville, will receive payment of $659,000 from Andy Rubenstein, a resident of Plantation Florida. The announcement was made at the Palm Beach County state attorney's office.

Morris said he bought the implant devices from Rubenstein, not knowing they were stolen, and Biomet seized them from International Medical's Northwestside warehouse after a police raid last year.
