• Efrain Rivera has been named senior VP and CFO at Bausch & Lomb (B&L; Rochester, New York), succeeding Stephen McCluski who plans to retire June 30. McCluski will serve as senior VP-corporate strategy, responsible for strategic business development activities, until his retirement. Rivera joined B&L in 1989 and has served as general manager of B&L Mexico, VP-finance for Global Vision Care, and president-B&L Canada and Latin America. He was elected an officer of the company in 2002, and has been corporate VP and treasurer since 2004. B&L is an eye health company.

• Robert Zaugg, PhD, has been appointed VP, business development, at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research (La Jolla, California). Recently, Zaugg worked as an independent consultant, serving as interim CEO of several California biotech companies, including DermAegis which he co-founded. Burnham Institute conducts research to find cures for human disease.

• Stephanie Wells has been appointed to the new position of corporate senior VP, marketing, and chief marketing officer, at Charles River Laboratories International (Wilmington, Massachusetts). Previously, Wells was VP worldwide marketing, Clinical Labs for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics. Charles River provides products for advancing drug discovery.

• Thomas Visotsky has been appointed to VP of sales at Concuity (Vernon Hills, Illinois), a division of Trintech (Dublin, Ireland). Most recently, Visotsky was national sales director of Besler Consulting. Concuity offers solutions to increase hospital revenue by correcting payer non-compliance issues.

• Gene Davis has been appointed president of the BioMedical Systems Division of Environmental Tectonics (ETC; Southampton, Pennsylvania). Davis has held several positions with ETC including director of sales for Latin America and Sub Sahara Africa, director of sales for S.E. USA, director of industrial participation and VP of sales and marketing. Davis will direct the BioMedical Systems Division's monoplace and multiplace hyperbaric chamber business.
