Cardinal Health (Dublin, Ohio) reported the appointment of R. Kerry Clark as president, CEO and a member of Cardinal's board. Clark succeeds Robert Walter as chief executive.

Walter, the company's founder, long-time CEO, and a major shareholder, will continue as chairman of the board and work with Clark “to shape the company's future,“ Cardinal said in a statement.

Clark has been vice chairman of the board of Procter & Gamble since 2002 and was most recently responsible for its $20 billion Global Family Health business.

Cardinal also reported that George Fotiades, president and chief operating officer, will leave the company following a transition period.

Cardinal, a $75 billion, global healthcare company, manufactures, packages, and distributes pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, offers a range of clinical services and develops automation products designed to improve the management of supplies and medication for hospitals, physician offices and pharmacies.
