• Blue Shield of California(San Francisco) reported the appointments of three new vice presidents. Jan Vorfeld has been named to the newly created post of vice president of business transformation and e-business. Vorfeld previously served as general manager with Charles Schwab & Co. Bob Wadsworth was promoted to vice president of installation and membership in the consumer operations division from his previous position as senior director. Laurie Cameron has been promoted from senior director to vice president of learning and organization development. She joined Blue Shield’s human resource department last year with responsibility for the company’s leadership and change management programs.

Byron Hewett has been named president and chief operating officer of Immunicon (Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania). Hewett previously served as the company’s chief operating officer and general manager for cancer products. Concurrently, Edward Erickson, CEO and chairman, reported his intention to step down as CEO on March 31, 2006. Immunicon develops cell-based research and human diagnostic products with an initial focus on the management of cancer.

William Kullback has been named chief financial officer for IntriCon (St. Paul, Minnesota), formerly named Selas Corporation of America. Kullback assumes the role of CFO from Robert Gallagher, who is pursuing an opportunity outside of the company. Kullback previously served as senior vice president and CFO of MedSource Technologies. IntriCon manufactures microminiaturized electronic products primarily for the hearing instrument industry, as well as the medical equipment, computer, government, electronics, and telecommunications industries.
