Intranasal Influenza Vaccine
Attenuated Influenza A virus is a chimera of two influenza strains"capable of invoking an immune response, by intranasaladministration, and resistant to wild-type challenge," as demonstratedin animal studies.

Cytochrome-Based Anti-Inflammatory Agent
Peptide derivatives of cytochrome 6 amino acid sequences inhibitproduction of toxic oxygen products (e.g., peroxide, superoxide) byhuman phagocytic cells. Their phagocyte specificity suggests they"would not have the side-effects of other anti-inflammatory agents ingeneral use."

Cocaine-Abuse Therapeutics
Benztropine analogs that bind with high affinity to dopaminetransporter, ("more than 100-fold over other monoaminetransporters"), block dopamine's reuptake in vitro, "yet do notdemonstrate a cocaine-like behavior profile in animal models ofpsychomotor abuse." Hence, "they may have potential as cocaine-abuse therapeutics."
Radiolabeled versions of the analog image the transporter inmammalian brain, for diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders, e.g.,Parkinson's disease. Pharmaceutical compositions provided.

`Knockout' Animals To Study Sex Hormone Biology
Mutant mice lacking functional steroid hormone receptors, as modelsfor testing sex hormones and synthetics that mimic or antagonize sexhormones. For use in birth control methods or hormone replacementtherapies. Also, to characterize materials "suspected of precipitatingor conferring protection against osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, breast and endometrial cancers, etc.
