Earlier studies demonstrated that the Lister strain of oncolytic vaccinia virus (VVL) is capable of replicating and delivering therapeutic genes even under hypoxic conditions, highlighting its potential as a promising vector for targeting hypoxic tumors like pancreatic cancer.
