Financing supports Cantoni’s NNMT inhibitors for obesity

Cantoni Therapeutics BV has announced the closing of additional financing to advance its lead asset into IND-enabling studies for obesity and its comorbidities. The company is developing small-molecule inhibitors of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), a promising target for cardiometabolic diseases. Cantoni has also won a Novo Nordisk ValidatioNN grant supporting translational research work on the mode of action of NNMT inhibition.

​Ottobock plans 2025 IPO on Frankfurt exchange

German bionics leader Ottobock SE & KGaA plans to list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by the end of the year in an IPO targeting gross proceeds of €100 million (US$117.7 million). Ottobock would be the fourth European company to go public this year, a good sign for the European med-tech market, which had not seen any since the first half of 2022.

M&A, fundraising slowed by tariffs, value creation continues

As Avidity Biosciences Inc. brought the second-largest follow-on offering of the year to the market, the company also released positive early and midstage stage results of del-zota, an antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate, in treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Phase I/II results showed a reversal of disease progression in patients who have been continuously treated for a year, plus improvements in several functional measures.
