Medical societies have sounded off on the proposal by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to review the regulations governing anti-kickback enforcement, but the Advanced Medical Technology Association (Advamed) said in comments to the docket that one of the principle problems with the status quo is that qui tam lawsuits can be filed for entirely innocuous efforts to improve care coordination, a foundation of decades-long efforts to control health care spending.
