Affluent Medical SA reported initial success from the first minimally invasive transcatheter implantation of its biomimetic Epygon heart valve. This was placed in a 62-year-old female suffering from a severe form of mitral regurgitation, considered untreatable via traditional heart surgery due to multiple risk factors. This first-in-human trial was performed at the Molinette Hospital, part of the City of Turin University Hospitals of Health and Science.

Medtronic plc has announced a plan by Cosmo Pharmaceuticals NV and Nvidia Inc. to integrate Nvidia's artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into Medtonic’s GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module. GI Genius is designed to host multiple AI algorithms as the first U.S. FDA-cleared, AI-assisted colonoscopy imaging tool for detecting polyps that can lead to colorectal cancer.
Illumina Inc. released Connected Insights in a beta version for the U.S., following its commercial release in other selected countries. Connected Insights, an assay-agnostic, cloud-based software designed to streamline interpretation and reporting across next-generation sequencing (NGS) types, was initially developed for somatic oncology applications, the system will shortly also support whole genome sequencing for rare diseases.
