• Charles Sidebottom, director of corporate standards for Medtronic, has been elected to the ASTM International (West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania) board of directors. Sidebottom will serve a three-year term. Currently recording secretary for ASTM International Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices, Sidebottom has been an ASTM member since 2001. ASTM International is a standards development and delivery system.

• Landauer (Glenwood, Illinois) has named Michael Burke as the company's senior VP and chief financial officer, effective Jan 3. Most recently, Burke was the senior VP/CFO of Albany International. Landauer is a provider of technical and analytical services to determine occupational and environmental radiation exposure and is the leading domestic provider of outsourced medical physics services.

• Response Genetics (Los Angeles) has named Thomas Bologna as CEO. Bologna was also elected a member and chairman of the board. Previously, Bologna was president/CEO of Orchid Cellmark. Response Genetics is focused on molecular diagnostic tests for cancer.
