McKesson launches Achieve HIT program

The passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes landmark legislation designed to promote the use of healthcare information technology (HIT) for all healthcare providers. The HIT provisions endorse and provide incentives for the rapid implementation and meaningful use of technology to reduce healthcare costs by improving quality, safety and efficiency.

McKesson (Alpharetta, Georgia) said it has responded to the legislation with its Achieve HIT program for physicians and health systems. Achieve HIT is designed to help healthcare providers optimize and accelerate their efforts to improve care delivery as they put plans in place to achieve meaningful use and qualify for the new government incentives.
