James Carnall was named VP of operations of Command Medical Products (Ormond Beach, Florida). Carnall's prior positions were with Eastman Kodak, University of Florida Tissue Bank, Regeneration Technologies and ViewRay. Command Medical Products provides contract manufacturing services for the production of disposable medical devices from both Florida and Managua, Nicaragua, manufacturing sites.

Jeffery Vick was named chief business officer of Flamel Technologies (Lyon, France). Vick previously was CEO of Silence Therapeutics. Flamel Technologies is a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of two polymer-based delivery technologies for medical applications.

Daniel Pelak was named to the board of Mardil (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina). Pelak is senior advisor to the private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe. Mardil specializes in the cardiac medical device field.

Kevin Tse has been named director of ventures and acquisitions at MediPurpose (Norcross, Georgia). Tse, who worked most recently with KPMG Corporate Finance, a global investment advisory firm, will be responsible for identifying and evaluating partnership and acquisition opportunities. MediPurpose is known for introducing quality safety medical devices that protect healthcare professionals from sharps injury, and now works with inventors and medical device companies to design, patent, manufacture and market their products.

Garth Gemar, MD, was named medical director for the Maricopa County, Arizona, operations of Southwest Ambulance (Mesa, Arizona). Gemar has been pre-hospital medical director at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center's Emergency Department for 20 years. Southwest Ambulance serves 25 communities in the Southwestern U.S.
