Alphatec Holdings (Carlsbad, California), a spinal device company, reported that John Foster, the company’s chairman, will become executive chairman, effective immediately. Ronald Hiscock remains president and CEO. Also, Stephen Dixon has resigned, and Steven Yasbek has been promoted from vice president and corporate controller to vice president and CFO. Yasbek has served as Alphatec’s vice president and controller since the beginning of the year. He previously served as vice president and corporate controller for radio frequency manufacturer Remec.

• Sheryl Goldstein, DPM, has been named sales and clinical educator for BioElectronics (Frederick, Maryland). Goldstein previously has held positions at both Holy Family University and the Thomas Jefferson University. BioElectronics is the developer of the ActiPatch, a drug-free anti-inflammatory patch with an embedded battery operated microchip that delivers continuous pulsed therapy.

• John Whittington has been named executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at HealthSouth (Birmingham, Alabama). Whittington has served on an interim basis in this role since July. HealthSouth is a provider of outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging and rehabilitative healthcare services.

• Shubh Sethi has been named chief operating officer at Kika Medical (Boston/Paris). Sethi previously was president/CEO of Metaworks. Kika Medical is a provider of hosted, web-based clinical study solutions that build, operate, store, track, analyze and document Clinical Studies and Registries, from EDC through reporting, for clients in the medical device, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
