In October, the Nobel Committee awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Shimon Sakaguchi, Mary Brunkow and Fred Ramsdell for their discoveries in the field of autoimmunity. As has become typical for the scientific Nobel Prizes, the award-winning research is by now several decades old. But the discoveries were the basis for ongoing research into how to prevent autoimmunity that notched significant wins in 2025, in both basic research and in the clinic.

Ipsen licenses ex-China rights to Simcere Zaiming’s SIM-0613

Ipsen SA has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Simcere Zaiming Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. for global rights outside of Greater China for SIM-0613, an LRRC15-targeting antibody-drug conjugate developed by Simcere Zaiming for solid tumors. Under deal terms, Nanjing, China-based Transthera will receive an undisclosed up-front payment and is eligible to receive research and development and sales-based milestone payments up to $881.5 million.
