Cedilla extends series B with $25M to support TEAD, CDK2 inhibitors

Cedilla Therapeutics Inc., an oncology company targeting upstream aspects of native protein degradation pathways, extended its year-ago series B with a $25 million investment bringing the round's total to $82.6 million. Proceeds from the financing will support advancement of its two lead programs, an inhibitor of the transcriptional enhanced associate domain (TEAD) transcription factor in the Hippo signaling pathway for the treatment of solid tumors and a selective inhibitor of CDK2/cyclin E for the treatment of multiple tumor types.

Prospects for Zerigo Health Inc. brightened with a series B fundraising round that brought in $43 million to support expansion of the company’s at-home ultraviolet B phototherapy system for chronic skin conditions. The connected system enables a physician to ensure the prescribed dose is delivered while freeing patients from the thrice-weekly office visits often required for treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo and eczema.

Exo Therapeutics Inc. has completed an oversubscribed series B financing for $78 million allowing the small-molecule company to continue developing therapies for treating cancer and inflammation. Exo’s pipeline, created from its Exosight platform, has preclinical candidates that bind exosites, which are distal binding pockets for reprogramming enzyme activity. The exosite drugs include structural and computational biology, protein engineering and DNA-encoded libraries.

Founded in 2017, Boston-based Activ Surgical is preparing to commercialize its first product Activinsights, an FDA-cleared software that provides real-time, intraoperative visual data such as key blood flow identifiers to surgeons.
