Safeheal SAS raised €35 million (US$39.72 million) in an oversubscribed series C financing round for its temporary endoluminal fecal bypass system, Colovac, which is placed in the colon following colorectal resection. The funds will be used to complete an investigational device exemption pivotal study and speed up preparation for commercial launch of the device.

Aktiia SA raised $42 million in an oversubscribed series B funding round and rebranded to Hilo. The funds will be used for product innovation, expansion into new markets and to build out its blood pressure monitoring platform to support enterprise use cases.

April data and first quarter earnings reports show remarkable resilience in med tech, even as other sectors continue to suffer in response to tariffs and changing regulations. Not that tariffs proved insignificant: several companies reported annualized impacts north of half a billion dollars, but fundamentals and increased interest in med tech as a haven gave most players sufficient breathing room to absorb the impact with minimal adjustments.

Med-tech companies raised $10.15 billion from January to April 2025, marking an increase from $7.69 billion during the same period in 2024.
