Ube and Galts Pharma enter licensing agreement for UD-051

Ube Corp. and Galts Pharma Co. Ltd., a venture company from Kumamoto University, have signed an agreement giving Galts exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture and market UD-051 (GP-051), a compound discovered through joint research by Ube and Kumamoto University.

BD’s biosciences & diagnostics unit in $17.5B merger with Waters

Three months earlier than an expected update on a deal, Becton, Dickinson and Co. reported its biosciences and diagnostic solutions business will combine with Waters Corp. in a transaction valued at $17.5 billion. The resulting enterprise will operate under the Waters name and use its trading symbol (NYSE:WAT). Waters CEO Udit Batra will head the combined company.

Biopharma dealmaking in June 2025 reached $35.07 billion, the highest monthly total of the year so far and one of the strongest single-month performances in recent years. The June surge helped push first-half 2025 deal value to $138.31 billion, outpacing the first half of 2024 and exceeding full-year totals from several pre-2020 years.

ISB-2001, which targets BCMA, CD38 and CD3, is in a phase I trial for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma and has orphan drug and fast track status in the U.S
