Stalicla’s series B adds $17.4M for trials in substance abuse disorders, ASD

Stalicla SA announced the first close of a series B round at $17.4 million, which provides the means to complete preparations for both a phase III trial of the lead program, STP-7, in the treatment of cocaine misuse disorder, and of a phase II trial of STP-1 in autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Radiopharma firm Mariana Oncology raises $175M in series B

On track to move its lead candidate, MC-339, into the clinic for small-cell lung cancer in 2024, Mariana Oncology Inc. raised $175 million through an oversubscribed series B round co-led by Deep Track Capital and Forbion. The radiopharmaceutical company was incubated for 18 months before raising $75 million through a series A in December 2021, and has since built out its R&D division and a phase I/II manufacturing unit. It currently has 50 employees.

Abcuro Inc. pulled down an oversubscribed $155 million series B financing co-led by Redmile Group and Bain Capital Life Sciences to advance cytotoxic T and natural killer cells therapies. Specifically, proceeds will back the phase II/III registrational trial of ABC-008, a first-in-class anti-killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 (KLRG1) antibody for inclusion body myositis (IBM) as well as fund continued development of other clinical programs.

Varmx BV has raised €30 million (US$32 million) in an extension to its series B to fund preparations for the pivotal trial of VMX-C001, a modified recombinant factor X that acts as a universal antidote to reverse the effects of direct oral anticoagulants. Coherent Biopharma Co. Ltd. raised $100 million in series B and B+ financing rounds to step up its efforts to develop its bi-targeting ligand-drug conjugate (Bi-XDC) drugs and get them to market. Suzhou, China-based Coherent plans to use its newly expanded war chest to support the clinical trials of three candidates, CBP-1008, CBP-1018 and CBP-1019, as well as an IND application for CBP-8008 in China and the U.S., the company told BioWorld.
