Antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) specialist Tubulis GmbH has closed a hefty €128 million (US$139.4 million) series B2 round, more than double the €60 million it raised in its series B1 two years ago.
Tubulis GmbH is banking $22.75 million up front and could earn more than $1 billion in development, regulatory and commercial milestones from an alliance with Bristol Myers Squibb Co. focused on the design and development of antibody-drug conjugates for solid tumor applications. It would also receive tiered royalties on the sales of any products that emerge from the pact.
Researchers from Tubulis GmbH presented preclinical data for a CD30-targeting antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), TUB-010, being developed as a potential anticancer immunotherapy candidate.
Andera Partners closed its Biodiscovery 6 fund at €456 million (US$442 million). The venture capital firm will maintain its custom of allocating about two-thirds of the fund to biotechnology and one-third to medical devices and medical technology. The fund just edges past its target of €450 million. It is considerably larger than its immediate predecessor, Biodiscovery 5, which raised €345 million.
Tubulis GmbH has added considerable momentum to its effort to build a pipeline of novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) by closing a €60 million (US$63.2 million) series B round. CEO and co-founder Dominik Schumacher told BioWorld the cash would enable the Munich-based firm to generate clinical proof of concept, build a clinical pipeline and continue development of its platform technologies.
DUBLIN – Tubulis GmbH raised €10.7 million (US$12.3 million) in a series A round to progress a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) platform, which, it claims, will improve both the stability of ADC constructs and the efficiency with which they are generated.
